The Deseret Alphabet Edition of XKCD Has Turned 50!

Fifty percent, that is.

With eight exceptions (because, seriously, I do have other things to do with my time), every XKCD comic from #658 onwards is now available in the Deseret Alphabet. The eight exceptions are:

(This is assuming that I’ve done my accounting correctly, always a dangerous assumption.)

Since the current comic is #1339,  that means that (1339 - 657) - 8, or 674 comics have been Deseretified, which is 50.3% of the total.

Which is all kind of sad, once you think about it.

  1. I know this post is 3 years old, and I know that you've kept up-to-date with recent XKCD comics. I don't know if you have it scripted, or you're doing it by hand every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but I applaud the work, nonetheless.

I just started learning the alphabet myself, and I'm confident I can have it mastered shortly, however, one thing I'm struggling with are the subtle differences in the two "ah" sounds ("not" versus "art" verses "law" versus "aught"). As a western American dialect speaker, it's difficult, if not impossible to differentiate when to use the Deseret "𐐪" versus "𐐫".

    Any tips on this?
